The Project
The United Building
Condominium in Downtown Toronto · University Avenue.
The United Building reimagines one of downtown Toronto's most storied addresses, where the offices and presses of the Maclean Publishing Company once stood at the northeast corner of University Avenue and Dundas Street West. Billed as North America's largest heritage retrofit, the development carefully preserves the building's Beaux-Arts and Modern Classical structure while introducing a striking contemporary tower that rises above a restored podium. The residences sit on Toronto's only ceremonial boulevard, a rare offering on University Avenue.
A new tower climbs 55 storeys above the retained heritage floors, holding 759 suites that range from studios to three-bedroom plans, alongside penthouse and two-storey Skytown collections. Suite interiors by Tomas Pearce Interior Design weave timeless finishes with Art Deco-inspired details drawn from the heritage façade. Calm, classic and contemporary at once, The United Building offers a refined home in the cultural and institutional heart of the city. Renderings are artist's concepts. E.&O.E.
